Welcome to Bird Peeple! I'm glad you're here. Let me tell you how all of this got started.
I work from an office, and I put a bird feeder right outside my window several years ago. I mean right outside, with the birds sitting inches from me. At first I figured it would be a nice little distraction between tasks. It turned out to be the best coworker situation I've ever had.
Every day there was a new show. Chickadees grabbed one seed and left as if it were a getaway. Somebody always had to be the loudest one at the feeder. Birds argued over who got the best spot, and some of them looked at me through the glass as if I were the one being watched. I started noticing little personalities, funny habits, and moments I couldn't stop laughing about. Some were sweet and some were just plain strange.
I kept thinking, "Somebody should put that on a shirt."
So I did. That's how Bird Peeple began. Every design comes from real moments like these, the humorous and sometimes surprising things you notice when you sit still and watch birds up close. We're birders making things for birders, whether you're a lifelong birder or someone who just likes the little guys at the feeder.
You'll find our shirts, long sleeves and hats in the shop, and I'll keep adding new designs as the birds keep giving me ideas. On this blog I'll share stories from the feeder, birding tips, and the ideas behind our designs.
